The County of Franklin Solid Waste Management Authority ‘s mission is to make responsible management of waste attainable for Franklin County residents by providing the necessary facilities to ensure that recyclables are recovered and the remaining portion of the waste stream is dealt with in an environmentally sound, cost effective manner.

The Authority is a New York State public benefit corporation created in 1988 pursuant to the Act. In addition to the solid waste disposal landfill described herein, the Authority owns and operates three transfer stations within the County at Malone, Lake Clear and Tupper Lake.
